In traditional manufacturing, the lifting sprocket is made of ductile iron material. Due to its high wear resistance, good lubrication, high casting efficiency, and short processing cycle, ductile iron sprockets have the advantages. Its disadvantage is mainly due to the fact that the ball milled cast iron sprocket belongs to sand casting parts, and the connection or corner parts of the casting are prone to internal stress, shrinkage and looseness. The chain socket of the lifting sprocket should be formed in one pouring, and it needs to meet the requirements of the drawing.

Although the installation of chain hoist sprockets requires low accuracy, high load-bearing capacity, certain buffering and shock absorption performance, and more compact structural dimensions, they are prone to tooth jumping or rapid reverse movement if they do not meet the drawing requirements. However, it is difficult to ensure the quality of the product due to factors such as shrinkage and porosity in castings. Therefore, the casting process of the lifting chain is strict and the scrap rate is high. Once the casting or spheroidization is unqualified, the toughness decreases, leading to fracture and easily causing major accidents
