In large-scale performance scenarios, the safety performance of lighting sling belts is directly related to the overall safety of stage construction and the smooth progress of the performance. Especially in complex scenarios like 10,000-person music festivals, where there are dense crowds and equipment, their reliability is of paramount importance.

At the stage construction site of a 10,000-person music festival, the technical team conducted a thorough inspection of the entire set of equipment used for hoisting lighting trusses in accordance with the "Three-Level Safety Inspection System". When inspecting a follow-spot lighting truss on the left side of the main stage, which bears a load of 500 kg, a senior technician noticed that the surface of the lighting sling belt connecting the lighting truss to the truss structure had an abnormally loose section of texture approximately 15 cm long. Normally, the texture of a sling belt should be arranged in uniform and tight twill or plain weave; however, the texture at this section of the belt was clearly misaligned, and some fibers showed visible fraying.

The technical team immediately initiated the emergency response procedure: first, they replaced the problematic sling belt with a spare one of the same model (with a rated load capacity of 800 kg, exceeding the actual load by 60%, which meets the safety redundancy standard). Meanwhile, the replaced lighting sling belt was sealed and sent to a third-party testing institution for professional analysis. The test report revealed that 30% of the polyester fibers inside the belt had broken, and the breakage was concentrated in the middle area, which bears the most stress. This was due to the fact that after repeated use in the past, the fibers gradually became fatigued under repeated stretching and slight wear, but the surface texture concealed the internal damage.
